Munich in the advent season: a visit to the Christkindl markets in the city
One of the most beautiful Christmas markets can be found in the Bavarian capital. Since 1972, the biggest Christmas market of Munich takes place on Marienplatz and it has become a firm highlight of the advent season. Every year from the end of November to December 24, many guests visit the Christmas market in front of the stylish setting of the old city center. A hundred and fifty booths and stalls offer Christmas decorations and many delicatessens. You shouldn’t miss seeing the 25-m Christmas tree displayed every year on Marienplatz in front of the Town Hall. The market on the Marienplatz is open every day. Unfortunately, a lot of tourists don’t know that Munich has more Christkindl markets, each of them worth a visit.
